Abstract On the basis of a review of the documentation available as regards single or intermittent brief exposures to hydrogen chloride, the Committee has established a series of exposure limits applicable to short-term public exposures (from 10 to 60min and over) and to public emergency exposures (10 to 60min). The analytical methods available for the determination of HCl in air are briefly discussed.
