Bibliographic information American National Standards Institute, 1430 Broadway, New York, N.Y. 10018, USA, 1971. 8p. 10 ref.
Abstract This standard, sponsored by the American Industrial Hygiene Association, is introduced by a statement on the meaning of acceptable concentrations. It briefly gives the properties of acetone and its hazards to health. Maximum acceptable concentrations are given as follows: 1000ppm for the time-weighted average exposure during an 8-hour work day, with a corresponding ceiling concentration of 3000ppm; and 6000ppm for a duration of not more than 30min once in an 8-hour work day. Recommendations are made as regards air sampling procedures and analytical determination of acetone in air.
