Isopropyl alcohol (also known as 2,propanol, dimethylcarbinol or isopropanol) is a flammable liquid which at ordinary temperatures releases vapours which can form explosive mixtures with air. Prolonged exposure to high concentration can present serious hazards to health. Isopropyl alcohol is also severely irritating to the eyes. Properties and engineering control measures, precautions concerning personnel, safety measures in shipping, handling and storage, cleaning and repairs of tanks and equipment, and advice on toxicity, first aid and the medical management of poisoning and injuries.
