| Abstract |
The effects of exposure to certain types of intermittent noise were studied in an anechoic chamber, and compared with exposure to continuous noise for the same aggregate period of time. It was found in every case that the determining factor in the assessment of intermittent noise was the time distribution of periods of noise and absence of noise, rather than the total exposure to noise. |
