Abstract The purpose of this project was to evaluate the utility of the Sickness Absence Recording Tool (SART) software in the context of other support services available to assist small and medium sized enterprises in their management of sickness absence. The evaluation used both qualitative and quantitative assessments. Of the 311 organizations that expressed interest in the project, 186 agreed to participate, 158 installed the SART application, 106 returned data to the research team and 74 submitted data for at least eight months. Findings are discussed and recommendations are made for further developments and improvements to the tool.
