Abstract This report covers accidental carbon monoxide poisoning incidents resulting from the use of piped natural gas for the period 1 April 2005 to 31 March 2006 in the United Kingdom. The report analyses information obtained from the Downstream Incident Data Report. The report covers both domestic and industrial incidents. Tables and plots are provided for poisoning fatalities, poisoning incidents, and risks associated with the use of gas appliances, with trends from 1996/97. For domestic appliance-related incidents, data include room location, proximity to walls, fire resistance and electrical safety.
