Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of exposure, characteristics, and psychological impact of violence toward hospital-based emergency physicians in Morocco. It involved a survey among 60 physicians who were assigned to emergency service during the previous fortnight. The variables studied included those related to the victim as well as those related to aggressors. The Spielberg State Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) questionnaire was also administered to all participants. Findings are discussed.
