Abstract This article reviews the main substances that may cause the incidence of occupational cancer among workers of the construction sector: asbestos; welding fumes; wood dust; paints, solvents and pigments. It also addresses the issues of labeling, the traceability of occupational exposures, the recognition of occupational cancers and post-employment medical supervision.
