Abstract Chemical safety data sheet for glacial acetic acid. The substance is toxic and corrosive. As a liquid or an aerosol, it induces severe skin burns and can cause death. It can cause severe damage to nasal mucous membranes, throat and lungs; high concentrations can cause pulmonary oedema. Eye contact can induce irreversible corneal lesions. Exposure limit values according to ACGIH: 10ppm (TWA) and 15ppm (STEL).
