Title Long-term use of cellular phones and brain tumours: Increased risk associated with use for ≥10 years
Bibliographic information Sep. 2007, Vol.64, No.9, p.626-632. 23 ref.
Abstract The objective of this literature survey was to evaluate brain tumour risk among long-term users of cellular telephones. Two cohort studies and 16 case-control studies on this topic were identified. Data were scrutinised for possible use of mobile phones ten years or more and for ipsilateral exposure. Findings are discussed. Results from recent studies on use of mobile phones for ten years or more give a consistent pattern of increased risk for acoustic neuroma and glioma. The risk is highest for ipsilateral exposure.
