Abstract This study aimed to investigate possible auditory processing disorders related to solvent exposure. Thirty solvent-exposed workers and 30 matched controls were selected to participate in the study. Various data were collected by means of questionnaires, and participants underwent various audiometric tests including filtered speech (FS), random gap detection (RGD) and hearing-in-noise tests (HINT). Both groups of workers had normal mean hearing thresholds. However, significant differences between groups were observed for RGD, FS and HINT, probably related to solvent exposure.
