Bibliographic information Feb. 2008, Vol.70, No.2, p.63-65. Illus.
Abstract In protective clothing, the technical protection factors such as chemical, water, thermal and flame resistance are well understood. The emphasis is now on comfort factors, such as fabric weight, fabric texture, seaming, stretch, protection from hot and cold work environments, and on making the clothing more attractive, for example similar to those worn in sports such as automobile racing. This article discusses recent trends in protective clothing with respect to comfort, design, fibres and fabrics, durability and visibility.
