Abstract The Polish National Control System for safety and health protection against electromagnetic fields (EMF) and electromagnetic radiation (EMR) of up to 300GHz frequency is constantly being reviewed in view of the Directive 2004/40/EC on occupational exposures to electrical, magnetic and electromagnetic fields (see CIS 03-1039). The overriding goal of the control system is to ensure the protection of workers against the effects of electromagnetic fields in environmental and occupational settings. Data on the impact of investments on the electromagnetic radiation emitted by existing facilities or the ones being put into operation are the important elements of this system. This article comments the provisions of Polish directives and standards on EMF classification which need to be taken into account in measurement and evaluation reports published by accredited laboratories.
