Abstract This leaflet describes recommended work practices and controls to prevent drowning following entanglement in trap lines. Contents: reducing the risk of entanglement by keeping the deck free of loose lines; helping to escape from entanglement by stopping the engine and untangling or cutting the line; and helping to reboard the vessel if pulled overboard.
