Title Morning warming-up exercise - Effects on musculoskeletal fitness in construction workers
Bibliographic information July 2005, Vol.36, No.4, p.513-519. 30 ref.
Abstract This study investigated the effects of a three-month programme of 10-min warming-up exercises performed every morning by building site workers. Thirty workers participated in the programme and 17 construction workers at other building sites served as controls. Muscle stretchability, joint flexibility, muscle strength and endurance were measured before and after the programme. The results indicate that a short dose of morning warming-up exercise could be beneficial for increasing or maintaining joint and muscle flexibility and muscle endurance for workers exposed to manual material handling and strenuous working positions.
