Abstract This report provides an assessment of the use made of a transport safety advisory service programme implemented jointly by the Health and Safety Executive and the UK Freight Transport Association. The service includes access to a dedicated toll-free number to provide guidance and advice to vehicle operators, drivers and all persons responsible for safety relating to workplace transport. The assessment of the use of the service includes the number of calls made by postcode, size of enterprise (expressed by number of vehicles and employees), nature of business, nature of the problems and responses.
