Abstract Swiss law specifies that the employer has to provide personal protective equipment and ensure that it is in always in perfect condition. Aimed at employers in the forestry sector, this booklet lists the costs of new equipment for newly hired workers, as well as the annual replacement costs of the equipment based on its average lifetime. The following protective equipment is considered: helmets with built-in earmuffs, face shields and neck protection; ear muffs; jackets; trousers; gloves; boots; weatherproof coats.
