Acute toxicity: methaemoglobinaemia; haemolysis; fall in pressure; jaundice and liver damage; splashes may induce ocular lesions. Chronic toxicity: carcinogenic effects (bladder tumor); cyanosis; vertigo; headache; asthenia; haematuria; cystitis; irritation dermatitis. Exposure limit (France): TWA = 9mg/m3 (2ppm).
