Abstract International Chemical Safety Card. Exposure routes: inhalation and ingestion. Short term exposure effects: irritation of the skin, eyes and respiratory tract; effects on the calcium metabolism, resulting in cardiac disorders and impaired function. Long-term exposure effects: effects on the bone, resulting in fluorosis. Long-term exposure effects: prolonged or repeated contact may induce skin sensitization. Threshold limit value: 2.5mg/m3 (TWA) as fluorine (ACGIH 1998).
