Abstract This Ordinance was issued under the authority of Act No.1993/93 concerning occupational safety and health (see CIS 94-1). It applies in Hungary the provisions of Directive 89/654/EEC (see CIS 90-356). It applies to all workplaces, with the exception of temporary construction sites, mines, fishing vessels, and land and vehicles outside the employer's control. Contents: general obligations of employers; emergency exits; fire protection; waste disposal in the workplace; ventilation of enclosed workplaces; temperature; lighting; floors, walls, ceilings and roofs; windows; doors; transport ways and danger zones; escalators; ramps; size of work spaces; welfare facilities (incl. special areas for pregnant women and lactating mothers); first aid provision; workplaces for handicapped workers; open-air workplaces; noise and vibration. Regulation No.25/1996 concerning the minimum health requirements of normal workplaces is repealed. In annex: definitions and limit values for various physical parameters (temperature, lighting, noise); definition of work difficulty in terms of energy expenditure.
