Abstract These regulations, issued under the Health Act 1911, apply to all places in the state with the exception of mines, petroleum wells and petroleum pipelines. Asbestos is declared to be a hazardous substance. The sale, supply or use of asbestos cement sheets is subject to stringent safety precautions, with particular attention to be paid to the prevention of atmospheric release of asbestos fibres. Asbestos-containing materials can only be disposed of at places specified in the schedules of the Regulations.
