Abstract This notification came into force on 1 July 1992. It applies to work carried out by young people between 15 and 18 years old. The employer is responsible for the proper training and supervision of young workers. Young persons are excluded from performing certain tasks: work with dangerous machinery (chainsaws, presses, tractors, etc.); exposure to dangerous chemicals; handling of loads >12kg (25kg under some conditions); work with heavily vibrating tools; work with substances stored at below -153°C (with similar low boiling temperatures); work without adult supervision where there is a danger of violence; work where there is a risk of oxygen deprivation; emptying and filling of gas tanks with flammable gases; work where there is a risk of explosion; work requiring the wearing of fresh air supplied breathing apparatus for more than 4 hours. Derogations are possible (e.g. for working on the family farm).
