Abstract These regulations (commenced on 16 Apr. 1986, gazetted as S.R. 96/1986) were issued under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1985 (CIS 88-1751). They apply only to wheeled tractors used in agriculture and related activities. They specify the use of appropriate safety devices (machine guards, protective frames, power take-off guards). Measures protecting the safety of passengers are prescribed. Minors (under 18yrs) may only drive tractors if they have received adequate training or if they are under the supervision of experienced tractor drivers.
