| Abstract |
These regulations (commenced on 3 Dec. 1985, gazetted as S.R. 385/1985) were issued under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 1985 (CIS 88-1751). They concern the provision of meals, clothing, shelter, sanitation, washing and first-aid facilities for construction workers. They also oblige employers to provide and maintain safety helmets for workers on construction sites, to ensure that workers wear these helmets and to display a safety helmet area sign. Rescue equipment must also be provided at workplaces near any place where there is a risk of drowning. In annex: contents of first-aid chests; emergency instructions for serious injuries. |
