Abstract This law was assented to on 25 Mar. 1957 and it commenced on 6 Apr. 1959. Amendments up to 1 Sep. 1987 are included. The Act controls and regulates the possession, sale and use of radioactive substances and the possession and use of certain apparatus capable of producing radiation. It also establishes a Radiological Advisory Council, the functions of which it defines.
