Abstract This standard (effective 1 May 1987) describes the methods of statistical evaluation of economic loss from industrial accidents causing injuries or fatalities. It describes the different sources of direct and indirect economic losses to be computed, methods of calculating the actual sum lost, methods of expressing the rates of economic loss, and grading of accidents according to degree of economic loss. More calculations on economic losses are given in the appendix. The whole standard is discussed in an appended commentary.
