Abstract This Directive requires Member States to ensure that construction products are fit for their intended use and comply with the essential requirements so as to allow their free movement within the European Community. The four annexes deal with: I. Essential requirements, including safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and environment, safety in use, protection against noise; II. European Technical Approval; III. Attestation of conformity with technical specifications including EC conformity mark, EC certificate of conformity, EC declaration of conformity; IV. Approval of testing laboratories, inspection bodies and certification bodies.
