Abstract This directive (effective 1 June 1980) is a guide to safety operations in all building construction and installation works. A section on general safety requirements on construction sites, and in electrical installation, work at height and work under seasonal conditions is followed by safety operations in individual occupations concerning: building construction (scaffolding, roofing, masonry, plastering, carpentry, construction material processing, structural steel work, concrete work, glazing, painting, waterproof work, rock drilling and demolition, formwork, lift-slab construction, slip-form construction, well-sinking, pipe jacking, underground wall building); installation (fitter, electrical installation, pipe-laying, riveting, ventilation installation, meter installation, electric welding, gas welding, fireplace building, nondestructive inspection); and machine operation (crane work, foundation work, machine maintenance, earthmoving machine driver, crane driver, pile driver, transportation vehicles driver, power generator work, work with machine tools, medium-sized and small machine operation).
