Abstract This Act (No.26 of 1972) commenced on 1 Sep. 1972. It concerns, among other aspects of construction, the following aspects of safety and health in buildings and in building construction: inspection of premises for hazardous substances; inspection for Legionella bacteria; inspection during an outbreak of Legionnaire's disease; stop and demolition notices; notices specifying building and demolition works; removal of hazardous substances (particularly, asbestos). Only sections relevant to occupational safety and health are reproduced by CIS.
