Abstract This standard (effective 1 Oct. 1988), ratified by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Construction and Environmental Protection, applies to low electricity supply systems (380/220V) for temporary use of electricity on construction sites. It sets out the safety requirements in: management of electricity use, the construction site and its surrounding environment, earthing and lightning protection, electric power distribution rooms and electric generators, distribution wiring, distribution panels and switchboards, electrical construction machines and hand-operated electric equipment, lighting. A table of load-limiting devices for different models of generators, maps of the distribution of thunderstorms in China, definitions of terms and explanations of the use of terms are annexed.
