Abstract This standard (effective 1 Feb. 1987) is a fundamental standard for occupational safety management and is used in statistical work concerning injuries caused by accidents in enterprises. It contains the classifications of: accidents, sites of injuries, nature of injuries, causes of injuries, objects causing injuries, ways in which injuries come about, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts, severity of injuries, and severity of accidents. It also includes calculations for mortality, frequency and severity rates. Tables converting types of injuries into number of working days lost are annexed. Commentaries on the main items of the standard are appended.
