| Resumen |
[inglés] These model regulations were developed at the Commonwealth (federal) level, with the intention that their provisions be included in the legislation of each Australian State and Territory. Their requirements include: suppliers of hazardous substances should provide appropriate material safety data sheets (MSDS) and labelling together with the substances; employers must ensure the availability of the MSDS and labels in the workplace; employers must maintain registers of hazardous substances used in the workplace; potentially exposed workers must be trained and provided with information regarding the substances they are in contact with; risk assessment and exposure control must be implemented when necessary; the health of potentially exposed workers must be monitored through health surveillance; relevant public bodies and emergency services must have access to information on hazardous substances present in workplaces. |
