Abstract Regulations EC180/87 made under the authority of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, applying to: welfare facilities; lighting; temporary heat; noise (including TLVs); first aid; non-ionising radiation; ventilation; excavations, trenches and construction; confined spaces; bins and hoppers; access to workplaces; flooring during construction; guardrails and openings; formwork; fencing and barricades; platforms, ramps; stairs; ladders; scaffolds; fire protection; explosives; demolition; hand tools and portable power tools; mechanical safety; repairs to machinery; pile driving equipment; powered mobile equipment; hoisting apparatus and hoists; electricity; welding; wood working (Canadian standard Safety Code Z114 shall apply); working over water; tanks and vessels; forest operations; extremes of temperature (TLVs by the ACGIH shall apply); handling and storage of materials; personal protective equipment; chains, slings and wire rope.
