Consolidation of Canadian federal legislation relating to occupational safety and health, as of March 1986. Contents: application (all employment related to the federal government, except for local ones in the Yukon and Northwest Territories); duties of employers and employees with respect to safety and health at work; employment safety (interference at accident scene, refusal to work in case of danger, reports to the employer of dangerous situations, investigations and decisions of safety officers); right of employees to complain if adversely affected by employer after a refusal to work; safety and health committees and representatives; establishment of an Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health; appointment of safety officers and organisation of safety services; special safety measures in certain dangerous situations; enforcement; providing of information; powers of the Canada Labour Relation Board. |
