Abstract This regulation (effective 30 Oct. 1986) contains general provisions which apply to every workplace in the Province of Ontario where there is a source of X-rays to which workers may be exposed. It also contains specific requirements for certain X-ray applications and devices. The Technical Guide included with the regulation has information on: definitions, scope, registration of employers, safety plan reviews, designation of contact persons, information of X-ray workers, X-ray dose limits, general safety requirements, personal dosimetry, investigation levels, overexposure incidents, industrial radiography, veterinary and medical uses, X-ray diffraction devices, measurement of X-rays, health effects of X-rays (cancer, genetic damage, tissue damage, embryotoxic and foetotoxic effects).
