Abstract This law is aimed at the prevention of major accident risks in certain industrial activities; it is written in accordance with the Directive of 24 June 1982 by the European Communities (see CIS 83-889). Definitions of a major accident and of dangerous substances. Legal obligations are imposed on those engaging in the given industrial or storage activities (prevention; information to be provided in the case of a major accident; reporting the accident to the competent authorities). Appended: I - Listing of the industrial installations covered; II - Quantity of stored products authorised in installations other than those listed under I; III - List of substances covered, with authorised quantities, CAS and CEC numbers.
