Abstract These standards specify the permissible exposure limits to ionising radiation applicable to health workers in Chile using such radiation professionally. The usual dose limits are: 100 millirems per week, 400 millirems per month and 5,000 millirems per year. Technical protection standards for equipment and for rooms housing the equipment are given. The original text of the applicable legislation in Chile (1974) is presented.
