Abstract This notification (entry into force 1 Jan.-1 Nov. 1983, depending on the provision) applies to all chemical substances and materials used in commercial operations or processes. Chapters cover: scope and definitions; general requirements; packaging and marking; manufacturers and importers (reporting of hazardous substances, testing and communication of information on such substances, data sheets, instructions for use to be provided by supplier); employers (responsibilities, replacement of more hazardous by less hazardous substances, providing workers with instructions for use of hazardous substances, personal protective equipment); exposure limits; powers of the Labour Inspectorate to write more detailed rules; filing complaints; penalties; effective dates of individual provisions. In an annex: sample report forms.
