Abstract This collection of Brazilian OSH laws includes: the full text of Act No. 6514 (1977) on Occupational Safety and Health, giving the basic guidelines; and Decree No. 3214 (1978), consolidating several standards and regulations pertaining to OSH. The latter includes, among others: basic obligations of employers and employees; responsibilities of OSH officers and occupational physicians; list of occupation codes; tables showing the minimal number of OSH officers according to the number of employees in the enterprise; examples of accident and disease report forms; minimum lighting levels by type of activity; limitations of exposure to radiation; regulations on work under hyperbaric pressure; TLV list for chemical agents; regulations on work with inflammable and explosive substances; open-air and underground work; fire protection; hygienic and comfort requirements in the workplace.
