Descriptors [Primary] France, safety and health committees [Secondary] law Subject category General safety, health and conditions of work Abstract This law (in force 1 July 1983) modifies the field of application, the composition, the missions and the operation of the safety and health committee; it provides further for the fusion of safety and health committees with commissions for improvement of working conditions, to give single bodies called health, safety and working conditions committees (CHSCT, for Comité d'hygične, de sécurité et des conditions de travail). Measures necessary for the application of certain provisions of the law (missions, meetings, annual reports, safety programmes and the composition of the CHSCT) will be fixed by decree.
