Abstract Establishment of in-plant regulations is mandatory in undertakings employing 20 or more workers. The regulations must include implementation measures for safety and health in the undertaking or establishment. The opinion of the OSH committee is mandatory within the terms of reference of the committee. Workers have a direct and collective right of expression on the content and organisation of their work and on the definition and implementation of measures designed to improve conditions of work in the undertaking. This right may be exercised on the work premises and during working hours and is remunerated as work.
