Abstract These rules (effective 1 July 1979) were developed in pursuance of the Norwegian occupational safety and health Act, 1977 (CIS 78-296). Contents: responsibilities; requirements (lighting, heating, ventilation, egress, doors and communication ways, noise and vibration, fire prevention, storage of flammable liquids and compressed gases); special facilities (inspection pits, battery charging, spray painting, booths, washing units); mechanical equipment (compressed air cleaning, jacks, welding and cutting, smoke exhaust, inflation of tyres, etc.); personal protective equipment.
