Abstract This notification (effective 1 July 1977) lays down general rules for soundproofing and limiting noise emission from various types of equipment, and for the protection of dwelling premises against noise pollution. An appendix gives maximum permissible levels of noise and ultrasound in workplaces (corrected, inter alia, in relation to the exposed person's work and duration of exposure), maximum permissible levels for exposure to noise inside and outside dwelling houses, offices, etc., noise levels outdoors, traffic noise, and vibration intensities in the workplace and in dwelling houses, offices, etc. Much of the information is presented in tabular form.
