Abstract This Ordinance contains provisions concerning: (a) prohibition to employ workers whose state of health does not permit their engaging in certain occupations (risk of contracting a statutory occupational disease; exposure to dimethylformamide, isocyanates, heat; necessity to wear personal protective equipment); (b) special pre-employment medical examination before admission to work involving exposure to a list of scheduled substances (lead, phosphorus, mercury, arsenic, manganese, cadmium, chromium, benzene and its nitro and amino compounds, trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, carbon disulfide, carcinogens, quartz and asbestos, metal dust, fluorine compounds, etc.) or to noise. Provisions concerning medical examination requirements, medical history file, periodicity and scope of examinations.
