Abstract Circular dated 18 Jan. 1977 sent by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Social Affairs to the labour inspectorate, stating that only aluminium metal and aluminium oxide, finely dispersed, are capable of causing lung and alveolar disease. The operations involving exposure are listed. Workers exposed to aluminium dust in the course of these operations must undergo appropriate medical examinations. Since there is no official TLV, a limit of 10mg/m3 has been fixed for aluminium powder, as an indicative figure.
