Abstract These directives were drawn up to reduce the number of accidents which still occur in work with grass silos. They prescribe safety rules fulfilling the requirements laid down in the Norwegian Act of 19 Dec. 1958 concerning the conditions of work of agricultural workers. Contents: clamp and tower silos; handrails; walkways and platforms; access (ladders, steps); suspended loads; silage unloading; lifting and handling equipment; percolating juice pits; poisoning or asphyxiation hazards (carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides); detector tubes; rescue harness and respirators.
