Abstract These instructions (entry into force: 1 Jan. 1977) are concerned with occupational safety and health in slaughtering corridors for pigs. Contents: responsibility of manufacturers, importers, vendors, lessors and users of mechanical equipment for slaughter houses; premises (free space from floor to ceiling, floor surface, floor openings, lighting, microclimate, soundproofing); raised platforms; machines and tools (stunning pens, scalding tanks, flame tunnels, handling and lifting equipment, etc.); safe work on mechanised lines (personal protective equipment, protective devices, cleaning of machinery and floor surface, good housekeeping, etc.).
