Abstract This Act (entry into force: 1 May 1976), which applies to children (under 14) and young persons (14-18), contains provisions concerning: prohibition of employment of children and administrative exemptions; employment of young persons (minimum age 15 years; hours of work; trade proficiency schools and tests; rest breaks and rest rooms; duration of shifts; leisure time and night rest; week-end rest; public holidays; leave; special provisions concerning inland waterway shipping); prohibited employment and limitation of employment (hazardous work, piecework, underground work, persons convicted of certain types of offence debarred from employing minors); employers' obligations; medical examinations; labour inspectorate; appointment of committees; penalties; employment of young persons on merchant vessels; amendments to previous laws and regulations.
