Abstract This Code, dated 1 May 1974 (entry into force: 1 Sep. 1974), is issued under the Industrial and Commercial Establishments Act, 1964. It contains provisions concerning: general questions (powers of inspectors, obligations of head of establishment, safety organisation, declaration of accidents, personal protective equipment, electrical installations, shoring parts, damaged buildings, hoisting apparatus, piles, sheet-piling, welding and cutting, transportation of workers); construction sites; handling and use of explosives; work in the proximity of electrical lines; shoring of concrete formwork; use of explosive actuated tools; underground work sites; work in compressed air; work on streets, roads and highways. There are 5 appendices containing tables and illustrations concerning: ascent tables for underwater work, handling and use of explosives, work in compressed air, code of signals and work on roads.
