Abstract This Decree repeals a number of statutory provisions listed in Schedule II. The provisions listed in Schedule I constitute the Second (Decrees of the Council of State) and Third (Decrees) Parts of the French Labour Code. In both of these Parts, Titles I to IV inclusive of Book II group together provisions concerning conditions of work (minimum age of employment, hours of work, night work); rest and leave; occupational safety and health (health and safety committees, ventilation, heating, lighting, noise control, improvement of occupational heath conditions in workplaces, meals, drinking, cloakroom and seating facilities, rest rooms, lifting of heavy objects, hazardous machinery and apparatus, fire precautions); women and young persons; occupational medicine (medical services, pre-employment medical examination and regular check-ups, nursing staff, premises for medical service facilities, equipment, stores). Book III, Title II, Chapter III makes provision for the compulsory employment of a proportion of certain categories of workers (disabled war veterans, handicapped workers) and for their special conditions of employment.
